About earwigs
One of the insects usually found near human beings is the earwig, which is also known as the "claw bug" because it has claws on its back. These claws make this insect much scarier. It gives the impression of being harmful to humans although this is far from the reality. Earwigs like to live near people because of the light. Light attracts these insects like a magnet attracts iron.
You can find them in any climate and geographical area. This insect has developed the ability to live with people. This ability is attributed to the fact that this insect exploited all places including cracks in the wall, space behind furniture and fractures in ceilings, space in appliances and so on. This insect likes to eat green plants, grass, flowers and plant roots and also other insects.
It is larger in size compared to other insects; it can measure up to 3 inches. These insects avoid daylight and are most active at dusk and throughout the night. The clawed female is the reason for their increasing numbers in your living space. She lays 30 to 60 eggs. These insects only need three months to reach maturity.
The myth of the earwig
Most people believe that when we sleep, these insects enter our body through orifices in the ears, nose and mouth and eat our intelligence. As a result, we can go mad or even die. That's why it's called " earwig ". This myth is contrary to the truth. In reality, these insects are harmless to humans, but their presence is terrible and truly unacceptable.
